Based on a true story, The Edge is my attempt to share with others the challenges I faced in trying to find my soulmate. In amongst that journey, I was confronted with all different kinds of addictions and distractions. My search led me down a destructive path, seeking the meaning of life in men. I ended up in an abusive relationship in which the only alternative seemed to be suicide. Maria found a way out just as I had. It was a spiritual passage that ended up in treatment. Here I began to discover my true self, allowing me to someday have something to offer to my soulmate. My spirituality has continued to develop by attending a 12 step program, working with a sponsor as well as with sponsees, daily devotionals and disciplines, and attending church. My Higher Power, whom I call God, is the most important thing in my life. The purpose of writing this book is that if I can help one person who is experiencing a similar path, then I’ve accomplished my goal and I feel my mission from God.
